A team of astronomers searching through recent astronomical survey data identified seven M-dwarfs located within 1,000 light-years of Earth with a significant excess of infrared radiation, making them candidates for alien megastructures. Other explanations for the observations have been proposed, including clouds of comets passing through a dust cloud.
