SpaceX overcame propulsion system leaks on two previous launches, making full duration burns to the scheduled engine cutoff, but lost control minutes after engine shutdown in the latest Flight 9 mission. Leaks caused a loss of main tank pressure, leading to an uncontrolled spin in space. Flight 9's Super Heavy booster, which was reused for the first time, exploded on descent. The next three Starships could launch about once every three to four weeks. SpaceX is then expected to transition to a third-generation, or Block 3, Starship design.

Princeton Institute for Advanced Study astrophysicists identified 2017 OF201, a  potential dwarf planet far beyond Pluto with a stable, extremely elliptical orbit. It's one of the strongest pieces of evidence yet against the existence of a hypothesized Planet Nine. Another hundred similar objects could be beyond the Kuiper Belt, but too far to be detectable yet.
