SpaceX’s Starship is showing signs of maturity with its 11th test on October 13, featuring the deployment of payloads, maintaining structural integrity, and returning largely intact. Engineers are now focused on refining performance margins and improving reuse. It will likely be at least a few months before SpaceX is ready to launch its next generation V3 version of Starship.

Verizon signed a commercial agreement with AST SpaceMobile to offer direct-to-cell services to its customers beginning in 2026. Verizon previously committed $100 million as a strategic partner and conducted trials of voice, messaging, and RCS over AST's satellite network. Their agreement expands Verizon’s 850 MHz spectrum reach using AST’s space-based broadband, complementing deals AST already has with AT&T and Vodafone.

According to James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) data collected in 2023,  Trappist-1 e, one of seven rocky worlds 41 light years away orbiting red dwarf Trappist-1, might have a secondary atmosphere containing heavy molecules such as nitrogen and methane. But JWST’s observations aren’t precise enough yet to determine if a greenhouse effect exists to allow for liquid water on the planet’s surface. If confirmed, this would be the first rocky, habitable zone planet known to host an atmosphere.
