Mantis Space Emerges from Stealth with $10M Seed

New Mexico-based Mantis Space emerged from stealth with $10 million in seed funding, led by Rule 1 Ventures. In addition to the $10M seed, the company has secured $25 million in cash and tax incentives from New Mexico. Mantis is positioning itself to fuel energy-hungry missions that are currently difficult to sustain in orbit, such as in-orbit manufacturing and space-based data centers. Mantis plans for satellites with large solar arrays at high altitudes and military-grade lasers to beam energy to customer satellites while they are in the dark.
